Hi, I'm Emma. I've spent years testing home products the only way that counts - by actually living with them: cooking weeknight dinners, cleaning up after two kids and a dog, and finding out which gadgets still get used six months after the box is gone.
Home Unpacked exists because most home product reviews are written off a spec sheet in an afternoon. We do it differently: real use, real mess, real verdicts.
If a $25 pan outperforms the $150 one, we'll tell you - and when something is genuinely worth the splurge, we'll tell you that too.
How we review
We sign up for and actively use every tool we write about. Each product is scored across four pillars — ease of use, features, value for money, and support — each rated from 1 to 5. The overall score is the average of those four numbers, always on a clear 5-point scale.
Our independence
Some of our links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission when you sign up through us. This funds our testing. It never influences a score or ranking — a low-scoring tool with an affiliate program still gets a low score. You will find tools rated below average on this site, on purpose.
